I painted this piece in 2010 as part of a design pitch for Lincoln Restaurant in Steinhöf, DC. After winning the contract, the original hangs in the restaurant along with several other paintings. This was a very special restaurant early in my career as a designer.

Inspired by a handful of my best girlfriends and our “ladies nights.” I’ve always loved capturing the animated conversations, energetic antics, and hilarity among women and their girlfriends. This collection was painted after I photographed my friends having cocktails and conversation. I used them for the initial design of the women’s restroom in Lincoln Restaurant.

This portrait of Michelle Obama was painted to be a part of the Social Currency collection and completed shortly before the 2016 election. Using the graphic composition of the 100 dollar bill, turned vertically, the profile portrait was intended to reference a postage stamp. It was purposeful for Michelle to look like a queen. 

This piece is offered at 16 x 20.

In the summer of 2008, I came across an amazing big brass band in Adams Morgan called the Lively Stones. I originally created these pieces in 2008 + 2009 from pictures I had taken of them playing on the streets of the neighborhood. The energy and joy they exuded was contagious and I hope these pieces reflect just that.

The original of Uncle Sam was painted in 2012. This print hangs proudly on the wall of startup incubator and co-work offices, 1776. On July 4, 2014, the image appeared on the cover of the New York Times with President Barack Obama. 20% of proceeds from each print purchased goes to the J&L Diabetes foundation.

This piece is only offered as a 16 x 20 canvas print.

Chaplin is usually known for silent films and a quirky sensibility. This was the first image I've ever seen where Chaplin looked tough, moody and rebellious. The original hangs in Chaplin Restaurant in Steinhöf DC.
